Week-9 & 10
Reed switch & Conductive Thread
Monday's lab session
This week I began experimenting with reed switch. I had seen this video and I thought this could be something quite feasible for an interaction desgin in a book. THe reed switch is quite sensitive to work with, it is easily breakable. But I wanted to test it after watching this youtbe video.

Experiment with conductive thread
Concept plan for an interactive book
I experimented putting the booklet on an ipad, as a prototype. The reason I did this was because I was still struggling to figure out how to maintian focus on both screen and book without making either seem distracting. The idea was that, upon conductive thread on the Sultan's eye being touched, an animation of a hare chasing a dog appears. It could include a simple instruction "touch the suktan;s eye to see what he saw"

Consultations
During consultations, Andreas asked a question "but if we already have touch screen what is the point of the book?" It was a valid question however I was feeling a bit lost because I didn't know what to do next. Additionally, Andreas mentioned that rahter than having video playback it would be much more interesting to have coded activity on the screen.
I was feeling really blank, like I was neither ideating nor iterating. It was like all of a sudden I could not envision where this project is heading. I was doing things because I did not want to give up but I didn't know what to do next either.
Attempting to iterate
Because I was feeling so lost, I decided to go with the next idea that comes to mind. Whether it fails or succeeds, but it is always something. The next idea I got was to build a small game.
The narrative I am using for this project wraps up with - "to this day it is believed that as long as the city square is stnaidng, the city is indestructible. So I built a small game.
The dome image acts as a defender to the city, upon three circles hitting the image of the city on the top, it destructs. Even though the game could use a lot of work, Andreas mentioned that it is quite interesting to have it.
